Use Case: Automotive Data Dashboard
WHAT
An automotive hardware supplier wants to showcase its devices’ latest telemetry capabilities in an automotive scenario.
HOW
A number of different dashboards were developed using aicas EDG in a hardware-in-the-loop simulation. The dashboards are directly connected to the data source. Using the included flow editor, rules can be created to route specific data to other locations as needed. A unique implementation, switching, and display of various heterogeneous devices was achieved by using the stack of JamaicaVM, JamaicaAMS, aicas Edge Device Portal, and aicas Edge Data Gateway.
VALUE
Within a few days, the full demo was running on the new hardware. The time saved during development was used to customize the GUI with application-specific templates. The result: a rapidly available, highly stable demo.

At CES 2022, aicas has joined forces with AWS, MathWorks, and NXP to present a product demo. It shows the new world of data-driven capabilities that provide easy access to deep vehicle data.

No Code Editor
The No Code Editor inside EDG allows users – without any programming knowledge required – to route, process, filter, or aggregate data. The editor comes with a large number of pre-built data operation nodes, but can also be extended with custom-coded new elements. This allows data coming from the edge to be wired to feed the EDG dashboards, trigger notifications and alarms, or provide further value for external consumers, such as an analytics system.

Data Processing
EDG chains logical blocks that aggregate or filter incoming data. This makes it really easy to select, sort, and filter data. As a result, you have access to exactly the selection of data you need. Based on this valuable information, you can support your data-driven business and application models.

Data Routing
Once the data is transferred to the cloud, you often need to pass it on to other systems or third-party applications. With EDG, this can be done through an easy-to-use graphical editor without having to write a single line of code.

Data Visualization
Designing dashboards to visualize data can be done without any technical background. It is just a matter of dragging UI elements into the editor and selecting the data source, no programming is required to quickly create powerful dashboards.

Integration With Cloud Data Services, e.g., AWS
EDG integrates well with cloud data services, especially AWS IoT services such as FleetWise and Greengrass, to postprocess, aggregate, and visualize the data in user-configured dashboards. As part of the aicas EdgeSuite on the other end, it can control edge agents to easily collect, organize, and send the right data to the cloud.
