Dr. James J. Hunt
Dr. James J. Hunt is a cofounder and CEO. He has a BS in Computer Science and Physics from Yale University, an MA in Computer Science from Boston University, and a Doctorate of Engineering in Computer Science from the University of Karlsruhe.
He spent several years as a researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Lincoln Laboratory developing CAD software for restructurable wafer scale integrated circuits (RVLSI) and a parallel Lisp system for signal processing.
Dr. Hunt led the IST project HIDOORS and was the technical lead for the Artemis CHARTER project, which developed tools and technology for Java-based safety-critical systems. He is a contributing member of the Java Community Process (JCP), particularly for Safety-Critical Java (JSR-302) and the Real-Time Specification for Java (JSR-282), where he is the specification lead. He was European Co-chair for the subgroup on object-oriented technology of the SC-205 Plenary for updating software safety standard for avionics as well. The result of which is now published as DO-332 and ED-217.

Johannes M. Biermann
Johannes M. Biermann is President of aicas and leads marketing, sales, customer and sales operations globally.
Prior to his role at aicas he worked for more than 25 years in leadership roles in both Hewlett Packard in California, USA and Böblingen, Germany, and Siemens AG in Munich, Germany. His tenure included a breadth of strategic and operational roles leading product and marketing management teams in addition to functional areas in customer advocacy and sales operations. He also worked with clients world-wide to acquire and deliver organizational change management consulting services.
Johannes also served over many years in a non-profit role leading the San Francisco Eric M. Warburg Chapter Director of the American Council on Germany (ACG). He graduated from the University of Cologne, Germany, with a master’s degree in business administration. He and his wife reside in the Karlsruhe area. They have three grown children.

Peter Marggrander
Peter Marggrander has been a banker in several banks for 35 years, mostly in credit and loan departments, lastly 10 years as Member of the Board and General Manager.
As a Senior Consultant he founded his own Consultant Company for Economic and Business Issues in 2002 for small and middle-sized companies. He was also a judge at the Karlsruhe Labor Court for 24 years as an employer representative.
He joined aicas as CFO in July 2002 and became shareholder one year later.

Dr. Isabel Tonin
Dr. Isabel Tonin has been a project and team leader at aicas for many years now, working on algorithms, automation tools and industrial process management systems.
Isabel has been active both in the IT market and in research for a few decades. Early on she cofounded an IT consulting firm in Porto Alegre, Brazil, and contributed to many research projects, including some that helped to develop global technology standards. Upon completing her Ph.D. in Brazil at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Isabel moved to Germany to pursue postdoc work at the University of Karlsruhe.
Even more than Information Technology and Java Modeling, Isabel loves her big family. She likes to cook and bake for them and uses fresh fruits and vegetables from her own garden. She also enjoys spending time with her small child and is therefore especially concerned about the environment, going the extra mile in recycling to keep the planet clean for the future generations.

Michael Reimann
Michael Reimann leads the Application Frameworks Team at aicas since 2013.
With a Degree in Computer Science from KIT, Universität Karlsruhe (TH), he specialized in Robotics and Automation, Machine Learning and Autonomous Cars, also gathering experience and expertise in areas like Cognitive Systems and Human Machine Interfaces. Having led successfully the product lines JamaicaCAR and JamaicaIoT, he currently manages the Engineering for aicas’ new, pioneering projects aimed at various segments.
Michael is an accomplished musician, being organist and choirmaster at the St. Raphael parish. He lives in Karlsruhe and is team captain at SSC Badminton, where he also coaches beginners.

Dr. Vladimir Nikolov
Dr. Vladimir Nikolov, recently joined aicas as Application Frameworks Architect. Originally from Bulgaria, Vladimir studied Computer Sciences at Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen-Nürnberg, and got his PhD from the Ulm University.
Prior to aicas, Vladimir worked as a postdoc at the Ulm University where he participated in several research projects. His research was focused on adaptive real-time systems and on specialized operating and runtime systems for HPC and clouds. After his academic career Vladimir also worked on the Autonomous Driving at BMW.
In his free time, Vladimir likes to travel and enjoy arts and cultural events.

Paul Sexauer
In 2019, Paul Sexauer joined aicas as Sales Director for North America. Paul brings to aicas extensive global experience in leading sales and marketing efforts for a number of software and innovative technology firms over his career. Most recently he served as VP Sales and Marketing with US-based Flexpoint Sensor Systems and shortly before, Sr Dir. Sales for Denmark-based CORENA Software. Specific market expertise spans verticals such as automotive/transportation, medical, Industrial, aerospace, government and military; including IoT and IIoT specializations.
Paul is a graduate of University of Illinois with a degree in Mathematics. Paul, his wife and two daughters reside in the Chicago area.

Manuela Lemmer
Manuela Lemmer has been with aicas since 2017, applying her technical and organizational skills in the areas of customer support and event management. She enjoys showcasing demo presentations, as well as working beyond the technical support, to build successful customer relationships. Her creativity and focus definitely contribute to the success of the sales and marketing teams.
Manuela lives in Karlsruhe, where she graduated in Computer Sciences at the Karlsruher Institute of Technology. She is involved in a variety of cultural organizations from arts to sports, and in her free time likes to relax in the garden or volunteer at KIT alumni events.

Renate Meinzer
Renate Meinzer is Head of Human Resources at aicas. She organizes HR functions within aicas to efficiently support all lines of business, focusing on helping teams to succeed by fostering a dynamic and collaborative work environment.
Renate has a dual business degree in Business Administration from Karlsruhe University and a Masters degree from FH Pforzheim, combining theoretical knowledge and practical experience in her professional life. Before joining aicas in 2015, Renate worked at R+V Versicherung and Arthen Kommunikation (PR) as a freelancer, while raising her three kids with her husband.
