Data Delivers Value

aicas Newsletter 01/2023

Dear Reader,

Springtime has come. We just finished a successful week at the Embedded World Conference. Now, we look forward to participating in the Hannover Messe and the Sensor Expo in California.

Also in June, our President & COO Johannes Biermann will have the pleasure of presenting the award for "Automotive Inspiration of the Year—Over 30" at the AutoTech:Detroit.

Despite rigorous travel, our team recently updated the aicas product diagram to present a refined overview of our current product portfolio. The entire product lifecycle of large fleets can be managed with a single, unifying, open system.

In 2023, our aim is to improve the use of realtime data and shape the future technologies for connected vehicles in the mobility ecosystem. As a first step, we joined the global Connected Vehicle Systems Alliance (COVESA). The membership inspired us to write an article to show how to capture and process large volumes of automotive data, creating added value for our clients. At the Embedded World Conference a few weeks ago, we also discussed how to extend "AWS IoT FleetWise" in order to collect and organize vehicle data more easily.

After a great start into the new year, we would like to thank our team members for their continued excellent customer service. We are actively hiring. Recently, we welcomed Steven Marney as Sr. Principal Architect to our expanding US-based team. He will work with customers and partners using the aicas EdgeSuite portfolio to address their business needs. Be sure to join us at our upcoming events to learn more.

Enjoy diving into this exciting new world with aicas!

Sincerely,

Dr. James J. Hunt

Co-Founder, CEO and CTO

aicas' Response to the Enormous Increase in Data

Automotive industry and zettabytes of data

Why is a deep understanding of vehicle data important? Vehicle data is critical to the success of future product development, operations and business models. Companies that have a deep understanding of their data have a competitive advantage by uncovering patterns, repetitions, trends, and causal relationships that create opportunities and differentiate them from their competitors. The complexity and variety of in-vehicle software continues to grow exponentially. The only way to manage this is to limit complexity.

Maximum Flexibility across any Number of Vehicle Generations

aicas partners with AWS IoT FleetWise

The aicas "AWS IoT FleetWise Agent" enables us to offer a bundle with "AWS IoT FleetWise" for platforms such as QNX Neutrino, the most important and widely used operating system in the automotive environment. Because of the underlying aicas technology, agent bundles can be migrated to new hardware without the need for customization. This solution is particularly attractive to OEMs increasingly under pressure to cut costs.

Automakers, suppliers, fleet operators, and technology solution providers can use "AWS IoT FleetWise" to easily collect and organize vehicle data and store it in a standardized way for data analytics in the cloud.

"AWS IoT FleetWise" is already being used by companies such as Hyundai Motor Company, LG Electronics, and Bridgestone Americas.
