With high networking costs and data ownership restrictions surrounding pure cloud-based models, edge computing is moving into focus, especially in manufacturing. Helping companies understand the trends, issues challenges and opportunities is why we participate at events such as the Hannover Messe IIC pavilion earlier this month, and why we'll be talking about our IoT solutions in London and Silicon Valley in upcoming weeks, too.

Our technology, based on realtime Java, can be instrumental in handling issues like memory management and general resource budgeting. Our solutions guarantee that software behaves and responds in a predictable way, and that data travels securely between multiple layers of processing devices. Placing intelligent processing units as bridges between sensors and multiple devices on the shop floor makes it possible to filter and sort data locally. The result is an optimized data processing. Combined with a portable platform aicas technology provides a flexible solution for small devices and mid-sized private servers, while being cloud-provider agnostic.

As more companies embrace edge computing, we look forward to exploring how our experience in embedded cloud computing is guiding clients and partners through the challenges. Let's work together to push your operations to the edge!

Dr. James Hunt, CEO & Founder

aicas @ IoT World Conference

Our leadership team is participating in the IoT World Conference in Santa Clara, CA, next month May 13-16, to lead discussions about how realtime technology is giving companies a competitive edge as our IoT solutions drive the digital transformation for automotive and industrial operations. Dr. Hunt will join experts from Xilinx, Oracle and Bosch Software Innovations, among others, at the Industrial Internet Consortium Workshop "Intelligent Transport Systems" on May 13th.

The IIC agenda includes demos, presentations and dynamic panel discussions with the executives who are designing and driving innovations for global customers. Topics ranging from autonomous vehicles, edge computing, connectivity with machine learning, and deployment of secure, Over-the-Air (OTA) updates.

Join us as new trends are showcased in presentations and the IoT World expert panel on "Edge Computing" on May 16th at noon (PST), to learn more from the speakers, including our GM Johannes Biermann.

aicas founder talks trends with New Electronics Magazine

In a recent interview featured in the New Electronics magazine, Dr. Hunt explored how the connected car industry is evolving through innovation – such as our integration of Alexa Echo Auto with JamaicaCAR. He also shared his views on upcoming technologies generating a better, reliable and safer in-car experience. The market opportunity for In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) solutions are emerging with a new generation of user interfaces, and innovations such as speech and gesture recognition, with a realtime Java-based platform, are changing the game.

aicas continues to grow!

Welcome aboard,
Ulrike Egger & Moritz Bruder!

We are delighted to welcome Ulrike Egger as a Sales Assistance to our office team. Ulrike has a degree in Textile Engineering and has previously worked in the areas of Quality and Workflow Improvements, which will benefit our client services.

Software developer Moritz Bruder joins our Tools Team. A fan of functional programming, Moritz has a M.Sc. in Computer Science and specializes in DSEL database back-end, translating relational algebra representations into optimized code in SQL or more specific languages, such as the open-source MonetDB.

Event Recap

Hannover Messe 2019

Global industry and business leaders flocked to HM19 earlier this month to talk about 5G opportunities and challenges. As part of the IIC pavilion, our European Sales team demonstrated new functionalities of aicas Jamaica-IoT for industrial use.

We used the opportunity to share our experience in the embedded segment tailoring solutions to collect and monitor data from multiple sources on the shop floor. Our team was able to explre with attendees our commitment to open standards for solutions that easily connect to multiple edge devices, small boards and end-point sensors everywhere - in the cloud or "on-prem". We were able to demonstrate how we improve user experiences with AI by applying machine learning elements in local, data-filtering units, and exploring natural interfaces. The event was once again the perfect gathering to explore solutions with our global business partners that need new business processes, especially in manufacturing.
