Abstract

Real-Time Specification for Java Update (JSR 282 Progress)

Work on the 1.1 update of the Real-Time Specification for Java (RTSJ) is nearing completion. The main changes have already been done. The current work is to finish the fine points of the specification and submit it to the JCP. The update focuses on improving the usability of the RTSJ for interfacing with the "real world" directly from Java and providing the first APIs for multicore. In addition, the APIs are split up into modules to enable partial RTSJ implementations for supporting specific feature sets without the cost of a full implementation. This talk will present these changes and how they will effect using the RTSJ.
