Innovations for Industrial IoT, powered by aicas & partners

Embedded World 2018, Nuremberg, Germany — 27 Feb 2018

From Feb. 27th. to March 1st at the Embedded World in Nuremberg, Germany, aicas will present its framework Jamaica-IoT with new functionalities like realtime data transmission for digital twin imaging and dynamic download of FPGA-designs (Hardware over-the-air).

According to David Beberman, aicas' Chief Marketing and Sales Officer, Jamaica-IoT enables edge intelligence solutions with machine learning, using hardware acceleration technologies such as SoC/FPGAs. "Jamaica-IoT provides secure downloading of new bitstreams and dynamic updating of the FPGA fabric, and therefore supports innovative applications such as predictive maintenance", Beberman said.

Together with its partners, aicas will exhibit (Hall 4,booth 303) comprehensive innovations for the segment of Industrial IoT, leveraging the hard realtime foundation of its JamaicaVM. Product demonstrations will include edge prognosis and streaming analytics for predictive maintenance, instance segmentation and a mix of software and hardware components to build accelerated platforms for autonomous vehicles and robotics. The demonstrations will use a combination of Xilinx Zynq ® Ultrascale+ All-programmable SOC, iVeia single board computers and aicas' JamaicaVM.

About aicas
aicas produces Java development and analysis tools for realtime and embedded systems. Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Karlsruhe, Germany, aicas provides products and services for the military/aerospace, industrial automation, robotics, medical devices, financial, automotive, and embedded computing markets.

JamaicaVM, the flagship product of aicas, is a hard realtime Virtual Machine incorporating leading edge deterministic garbage collection for running realtime Java programs using the Real-Time Specification for Java (RTSJ) extensions and any of the standard Java classes. JamaicaVM is available for 32bit and 64bit CPU architectures and for singlecore and multicore systems.

Jamaica-IoT is built on the strengths of our scalable, high performance JamaicaVM foundation to deliver a platform targeted at industrial applications. Software written for Jamaica-IoT leverages a secure, downloadable over-the-air component and application framework providing independence from CPU architectures and operating systems.
