JTRES 2013 Call for Papers

The Call for Papers for the JTRES 2013 has started. Participants are expected to submit a paper of at most 10 pages (ACM Conference Format, i.e., two-columns, 10 point font). Accepted papers will be published in the ACM International Conference Proceedings Series via the ACM Digital Library and have to be presented by one author at the JTRES.

Curtiss-Wright Controls Partners with aicas

Curtiss Wright Controls Defense Solutions published a press release of their collaboration with aicas to bring JAVA-based real-time processing to defense and aerospace platforms. aicas will support JamaicaVM on Curtiss-Wright’s open architecture rugged COTS Single Board Computers and Graphic cards, with additional support for CWCDS Continuum Vector Libraries utilizing Altivec technology. These products are used in embedded systems designed for use in demanding defense and aerospace applications.

New Leadership for Realtime Java Technology

aicas GmbH and aicas incorporated announced that aicas assumed leadership of the RTSJ (Realtime Specification for Java). aicas CEO Dr. James J. Hunt is now specification lead of JSR 282 and maintenance lead for JSR 1.

Multicore and More – Design East Press Releases

At the Design East aicas announced its 64-bit multicore JamaicaVM toolchain for VxWorks, QNX and Linux. Furthermore aicas celebrated reaching the 400,000th unit shipping milestone since JamaicaCAR was released fall of 2011. JamaicaCAR powers the Toyota Entune and Touch & Go applet environment for the Camry and Prius model lines.

Free JamaicaVM Personal Edition goes online

aicas GmbH announces the release of JamaicaVM Personal Edition (PE) for Linux PCs. PE offers developers new to embedded and realtime Java, the opportunity to learn about, experiment with, prototype, verify and validate their applications with the complete JamaicaVM toolchain and runtime. Embedded engineers can now do a risk reduction analysis on using JamaicaVM and realtime garbage collection (RTGC) before beginning their next project.
 

aicas Wins 2011 Software Embeddy Award for JamaicaCAR

aicas was awarded the 2011 Embeddy Award for Best in Show in the area of Software and Tools for its just announced JamaicaCAR connected application framework for automotive applications. The award was presented by Mr. Christopher Rommel of VDC Research, the sponsor of the Embeddy Awards. JamaicaCAR offers a secure framework for running Java apps, enabling the car owner to update the system as new functionality becomes available.

JamaicaVM 6 is now available for multicore systems

The aicas group will introduce the new multiprocessor version of the JamaicaVM hard realtime Java runtime environment at the Embedded World conference in Nuremberg Germany from 1-3 March 2011. It is based on the proven JamaicaVM 6 product, which supports the J2SE Java 6 standard classes. Memory management has been optimized to simultaneously run multiple realtime threads on different CPUs with minimal contention. The assignment of Java threads to specific processor cores can be handled by JamaicaVM or directly controlled by the user.

JEOPARD Project starts validation of parallel realtime Java VM

One of the results of the JEOPARD project, a unified parallel realtime Java VM for high performance, realtime and safety critical platforms is currently under test by industrial project partners. Among these partners are EADS Germany, Skysoft Portugal and Radio Labs Italy, who put the Java VM through their paces with actual applications.
Skysoft evaluates the development on multicore systems with SYSGO's partitioning operating system PikeOS. The testing application consists of Java partitions in an aviation control system, that are executed parallel.

aicas presents Veriflux – the comprehensive data flow analysis tool for Java

aicas GmbH will introduce their brand new analysis tool for formal reviews of Java programs at the Embedded World trade fair in March. VeriFlux is an automatic static code analysis tool for use in complete applications, as well as custom program parts.
