JamaicaVM, aicas's flagship product, is a standards-compliant Java Virtual Machine (JVM) that is used for a broad variety of embedded applications. With aicas as a partner within the Microsoft Windows Embedded ecosystem, developers now have available a robust, powerful JVM that operates under Windows Embedded CE. JamaicaVM brings the power and safety of the Java programming language to Windows Embedded CE, giving Windows Embedded CE developers true write-once, run-anywhere programming. Java's Swing graphics, with its color depth and resolution independence, is particularly useful for Windows Embedded CE users. JamaicaVM was the first available industrial-strength implementation of the Real-Time Specification for Java (RTSJ), and remains the only RTSJ implementation commercially available on a broad range of operating systems and processor families. JamaicaVM adds the realtime programming APIs of the RTSJ to the predictable execution of its patented realtime garbage collector and Java Virtual Machine. The garbage collector eliminates memory leaks and efficiently avoids memory fragmentation for robust application performance.
