aicas GmbH Extends its Reach in Asia; Signs Partnership Agreement with Realtimewave

Realtimewave to Distribute aicas Products in Korea

Karlsruhe, Germany and Seoul, Korea – July 17, 2007

aicas GmbH, the leading supplier of Java technology for critical realtime applications, and Realtimewave Co., Ltd., a major services provider and systems integrator in Korea, have announced a broad cooperation agreement under which Realtimewave will distribute and support aicas's flagship JamaicaVMtm and associated products in Korea.

The aicas portfolio fits naturally into Realtimewave's business, which is focused on high-tech embedded applications such as avionics, robotics, simulation, and control systems. Realtimewave is broadly and successfully involved in the flourishing Korean market, and will therefore provide a valuable distribution channel for aicas's JamaicaVM, which is appropriate for many of the application areas in which Realtimewave is engaged.

JamaicaVM, aicas's flagship product, is a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) that provides performance guarantees for all primitive Java operations, thus satisfying the main requirement for hard realtime performance. It is the only JVM that has an efficient and reliable hard realtime garbage collector. JamaicaVM is guaranteed to recycle all garbage memory. This eliminates memory leaks and fragmentation, which are the cause of many serious bugs in embedded applications. JamaicaVM is small and very efficient. With its speed and its performance guarantees, JamaicaVM is an ideal development environment for critical applications.

Realtimewave is a respected provider of advanced technical services to the aerospace/defense community and various industrial segments as well. The company's expertise includes deep and broad knowledge of leading-edge software technologies, including system simulation, control systems, test systems, communications, and embedded system development tools.

"Realtimewave is an outstanding company in its field, and we are very pleased to be working with them in Korea," said Andy Walter, aicas COO. "Realtimewave's knowledge of Java, as well as its overall embedded experience, will surely help JamaicaVM to succeed in the Korean market."

"JamaicaVM, with its hard realtime behavior, is uniquely appropriate for demanding embedded systems, and will provide a powerful new option for a broad range of critical systems," said KyoungTak Ha, Realtimewave's CTO. "We are very pleased to be working as partners with aicas and to participate with them as both companies grow in Korea."
