JamaicaVM operates on DIL/NetPCs!

JamaicaVM auf dem DIL/Net PC

JamaicaVM 2.8 supported by SSV

Hannover, February 2006 - With Version 2.8, SSV now also supports the latest release of the award-wining realtime JamaicaVM Java development environment. Embedded computing applications are now easier to write once in Java and then used on various processor platforms.

The JamaicaVM is considerably more user-friendly, in particular, and more powerful compared to previous versions. Together with the Coldfire-based DIL/NetPC modules DNP/5280, DNP/5282 and PNP/5280, as well as the programmable Linux device servers IGW/800 and IGW/900 from SSV Embedded Systems, development is now considerably more efficient and software development costs significantly reduced.

Thanks to advanced realtime memory management, developing advanced applications for integrated systems that require reliable and predictable behavior is no longer a problem using JamaicaVM 2.8.

The hardware-specific features of Coldfire-based DIL/NetPCs are isolated in Java class libraries. With comprehensive improvements to the internal data structures, the Reflection API and the class-loading mechanism, applications now run much faster and use less memory. All three Coldfire-based DIL/NetPC are based on the 66 MHz 32-bit MCU MCF5280 from Motorola and in addition to a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet interface have sufficient SDRAM and Flash memory. Two serial and one parallel interface, SPI, I2C and one CAN field bus interface are available for attaching peripheral components.
