JamaicaVM as base for the Software-Framework JPC

Karlsruhe, 14 February 2006. aicas GmbH, Karlsruhe and NetModule AG, Bern, announce their technical cooperation. From now on NetModule will use the realtime Java technology JamaicaVM within the scope of its Java solutions. The VAR (Value Added Reseller) agreement is valid worldwide. In line with this agreement NetModule takes over the first level support, while aicas provides the second and third level support. aicas and NetModule have already been been working together on projects in both the textile and packaging industries. JamaicaVM has been used with the Software-Framework JPC to build applications for visualization and parameterization. Both companies promise a better range of solutions and increased turnover by coordinating projects. In particular, users of SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) will benefit from the realtime capabilities and fast graphics of JamaicaVM.

JamaicaVM is a Java implementation for applications in deeply integrated, time-critical embedded systems. It is based on a realtime garbage collector, enabling the use of Java even in time- and safety-critical applications. The current version, 2.8 offers advanced graphics support, performance and enhanced usability. Thanks to its realtime capabilities and its graphics support it is a ideal base for the Java-based Software-Framework JPC (Java for Process Control). This offers an open infrastructure with client/server architecture for transmiting process data. Version 2.2 introduces multi-server capabilities and FDA compliance. It enables the fast and easy creation of applications in the areas handling, control, visualization, remote maintenance and capture of production data.
