  • Linux 2.6 or later
  • x86 64-bit CPU
  • gcc 4.1 or later installed and in PATH
  • glibc 2.5 or later
  • GNU tar or rpm 4.6 or later (for installing JamaicaVM)
  • Apache Ant 1.7.0 or later OR GNU Make 3.79 or later (for building examples)
  • JDK 1.6 (if Apache Ant or the Jamaica ThreadMonitor tool are used)
  • Direct internet connection (not via proxy server)
